What is Pride Month?
Pride is an international celebration that takes place every year in the month of June, honouring the 1969 Stomewall Riots. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first Pride event that took place in the UK, organised by the Gay Liberation Front. Pride symbolises love and equality for all, which is something that should be celebrated every month.
How Pride Month is celebrated
There are various ways in which Pride is celebrated, including parties, marches, and picnics. Anyone is welcome to participate in the celebrations to reflect on the history and strength of the LGBTQIA+ community.
How Lloyd James celebrated Pride
On Wednesday 22nd June, our team at Lloyd James celebrated Pride Month in honour of the LGBTQIA+ community. All employees were involved in the celebrations, with bright clothes and glitter all around!
Team competitions were held, with prizes received for the winners. It was great to see everyone participating and engaging with each other.
Our workplace is diverse and inclusive; we continue to develop and learn about new initiatives that can be implemented in order to create a supportive hub for every member of our team.
